Birdwings Media

About

Welcome to Birdwings Media, Friends!

As a Pakistani-Canadian educational media producer, my goal is to create content for youth-based industries to learn more about the breadth of Muslim and other cultures that are underrepresented in pre-school and school age content.

Why? Because I have profound conviction that the stories we tell our kids will significantly impact the ways in which they show up for each other as human beings, ten, twenty, fifty years from now, irrespective of their backgrounds.

If you’re reading this, then there is likely an idealist inside you like in me, who sees the potential for greater peace and understanding among people who are seemingly different from us, but who all share common truths that can together create thriving societies across the world.

I bring to this social enterprise 15 years of experience in communications and digital learning, informed by graduate research on media representation, a post-graduate in creating children’s content, and fellowships in both children’s literature and educational technology.

Birdwings is not an aspiring viral content studio, but rather, a community for diverse thinkers. In my mission to expand the way we think about media representation, I hope that you will not only join me, but also challenge me to continuously strive for more inclusive content as my journey unfolds.

Welcome and Khushamdeed,
